DAMIEN'S PRODUCT HISTORY
|
1960

Damien is selling arc stick welders nation wide in one major equipment store.
It becomes soon famous for its robustness thanks to its oversized transformer with a 10 years warranty.
|
1962

Damien is entering the spot welding market.
Damien designs the first spot welder with the transformer separated from the double sided gun,
giving the user a much better maneuverability than the competitor guns which integrates a 25kg (50lbs) transformer.
|
1988

Damien designs a new set of spot welders "CARFLEX", "BOXER" and "MULTIFLEX" using solid state switching (thyristor)
and electronic control, and an air cooling.
|
1995

Damien present to the "Equip'Auto" show in Paris, a the new generation of spot welders "10000M", and "15000M". The "15000M" machine is the more powerful spot welder on the market.
The one sided gun and double sided gun are simultaneously available, enabling the user to use one tool after the other without having to disconnect and reconnect them.
The electronic control, by the means of a temperature sensor in each tool, manage automatically the air cooling of each tool depending on the measured temperature.
|
1997

At the "Equip'Auto" show in Paris, Damien introduce its new generation of spot welders "10000M adaptive", and "15000M adaptive", with a new concept of Computer Aided Welding, winning the innovation prize.
On a 15" LCD screen, the user selects the car manufacturer, model and part he whishes to solder, and the software displays few views of the part with the welding spots.
Each spot color represent a different setting of the welding machine, by selecting the spots, the computer automatically sets the welder in the appropriate settings,
and the user just has to weld as indicated on the screen. This system insures the user to always get the optimal welding.
|

The "adaptive" function, using a current sensor at the output of the transformer, insures the welding spots to be always identical, compensating for line voltage drop, electrode wearing, or quality of contact.
The machine automatically detects a bad welding with a beep.
At the end of the welding a printed report is issued, listing all the spots realized with their parameters.
|
1999

Damien present to the "Equip'Auto" show in Paris, the first high frequency transformer integrated in a double sided gun.
The 5kHz inverter and the only 3kg (6lbs) transformer are located in the double sided gun, which is able to deliver 10,000 Amps and be used on a 16 Amps line !
|
2001

Thanks to the patented exclusive inverter design, Damien introduce a new series of spot welder based on 5kHz inverter the 20000HF and the 30000HF and soon the 40000HF with 15,000 Amps available with 2.5m (7.5ft) cables.
All these machines are current regulated and display the effective current on the front panel. The current regulation allows a perfectly reproducible welding.
